Notes

  • There is a general consensus that the three Siberian Tatar dialects -- Tobol-Irtysh, Baraba, and Tomsk -- should be considered dialects of a single Siberian Tatar language.
  • There are three recognized dialects: Eushtino-Chatsk (Tomsk Oblast), Kalmak (Kemerovo Oblast), and Orsk (Novosibirsk Oblast). Kalmak has been argued to be a variety of Teleut as well. Because it is so distinct from the other varieties of Tomsk Tatar, it has been given its own page.
